The Prince of Peace
“Peace I leave with you, my Peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid”. (John 14:27)
As with everything God does, it is perfect, so it is without surprise that Peace would follow Joy. The Love in Him brings the Joy in Him, and a Peace, that can only be found in Him. Our Lord is the Prince of Peace, and as with Joy, He is within.
In Ephesians 2:13-18 the word speaks of our separation from Christ, having no hope and without God in the world. The sacrifice of our Lord provides our oneness in Him, through Him, and provides our reconciliation to God. This is our peace. The peace of Jesus is that of reconciliation, our reconciliation to God through him.
Oh Precious Lord, thank you for your sacrifice and the gift of your perfect peace. Lord, I cannot comprehend the fullness of your peace for my world is too small. As I seek to know my world I notice it does not include you in the peace that they seek. Please forgive us Lord when we speak of peace and do not include you. For the peace that we seek can only be found in you. Help us to know that it is it is the Prince of Peace we must seek ~ the ultimate “Sacrifice of Peace Offerings”, which enables our harmonious relationship with God. (Romans 5:1) Keep my oneness in you. Blessed Savior you are the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) providing comfort and peace in your presence and promises.
