Conversations with God ~ Perfect in my Piety

Perfecting In Process

Perfecting In Process

Feeling worn out, battled and bruised ?

“In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 5:7-10)

I love all of God’s word, but this scripture just lays it out in plain view. It painted for me the perfect picture of the Christian walk. Unfortunately, as plainly spoken as it is, until I could fully yield my own understanding of Gods purpose in my trials, I was mostly war torn, weary and bruised. I had to let go of the piety of my pride, my false sense of independence, and in complete awe of God, fully surrender the soul of “myself”.

God was not judging me and He had not forgotten me ~ “For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” (Psalm 22:24) He was just lovingly bringing me out of my piety, and into His perfect purpose.

How wonderful it is that our Savior knows the flesh, and knows the origin of our battles. He knew and set the example of how to “armor up”. In his supplications to God He did not merely pray ~ he cried out as a man of sorrows ~ and through His reverence so flowed his tears.

…..”Christ has left us an example that we should learn humble obedience to the will of God, by all our afflictions. We need affliction, to teach us submission. His obedience in our nature encourages our attempts to obey, and for us to expect support and comfort under all the temptations and sufferings to which we are exposed”….Mathew Henry

Blessed Heavenly Father, keep my flesh anchored in you, obedient, on my knees, humbled by your sovereignty, fully yielded.
Thank you for the trust and reassurance I can have only in you. ~Amen :Y
