“having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.” (Ephesians 1:18)
Have you ever found that sometimes your journeys just somehow go off road? For some reason you have just lost your way? I know I have. The journey would be going so well, feelings of total self-control wrapped all so smug in the routines of the travel. Perhaps that smugness is so warm and cozy that it even begins to morph into complete self-assurance. You begin to congratulate yourself on all you have accomplished in the journey, and you are just so very pleased with you, so very proud. Are you glowing?
Or perhaps the busyness in the journey has you so intoxicated in an adrenaline allure. Just loving the frantic pace of it all, and so hyped in the “hustle”. Are you in it? Are you running that race?
Or just maybe, along the way a new and exciting trail is spotted, and your senses heighten, even salivate at the thought of a new adventure. The routines of that secure journey begin to seek a new thrill, just a little “spice of life” to add sparkle to the journey along the way. And on that cruise you shipwreck, and are consumed by the seas of the voyage. Are you tracking that journey? Have you been there? I know I have. As the North Star fades into the galaxy of the night, you lose your way, and are so blind sighted even as you say, “but I had mapped it out so well”.
In His light your heart’s vision is corrected, and now you begin your journey well.
Blessed Savior, I am so deeply humbled, I submit the pride of “myself” to exalt the glorious majesty of you. The race to run is the race in Grace, the eternal race, and the only one worthy of a finish. I rejoice in knowing that you are the light that never fades, charting my path and opening the eyes of my heart, as you perfect the journey.
~ Amen: Y
