God Dwelling in the Midst

God in the Midst

God in the Midst

“And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.” (Exodus 25:8)

And our precious Lord came down to us as he spoke these words to Moses.

Our God did not demand the making of the sanctuary;   ~ mediate on these words.

“The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.” (Exodus 25:1-2)

Did you hear the conversation, so sweet….”speak to the people”, our Lord says.

Did you hear ~ our God~ asking for a contribution – a contribution from every man whose heart moves him….He desired it from every man and he only desired it from the Heart.

And what He gave… was of Himself ~ to dwell in their midst….our midst…..your midst…mine ~ (John 3:16)

I don’t know about you but my Heart just nearly bursts to ponder these words and this loving request from our Lord. He came down to Adam and Eve in the Garden, He came down to Moses in the Burning Bush, He came down to Israel in the Exodus, and He came down to us in Christ.

It just takes my breath away to realize ~ God comes down and desires to dwell in our midst ~ God desires to dwell in you ~ God desires to dwell in me ~ In Christ, He desires us for His temple….

and He still desires His temple contribution ~ from the Heart.

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

Will you contribute your “self” ….with all your Heart and have God dwell in your midst?

Sovereign Lord, as I mediate in your Word I am continually amazed that you would desire to dwell in our midst. Mere words cannot express the depth of gratitude that swells in my heart from your presence. My deepest prayer is that we continually lift our hearts to you. Remain in our midst as we shift into a New Year. and throughout this coming year help us to keep our focus on the precious gift of Christ in our hearts. ~ Amen: Y
