More than Morsels

Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread

“A woman from Samaria came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink”. (John 4:7)

The day was planned and with three things on my plate and the contemplation for the main course.

I knew the menu plan for the meal would more than satisfy a hearty appetite in three courses.

The previous year’s feast had more than satisfied a hunger as it served up its large portion and revealed His sole purpose for me; to worship God. But I was being drawn to the water. So holding my breath I plunged right in knowing this was going to be more than a morsel day.

As the living water poured there was a facet in the reflection of light sparkling from the Son.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship. Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know, we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”   (John 4:20 -24)

Did you hear that ? The Father is seeking…..our God is seeking….true worshipers.

And I knew this would be the devotion my life to know and become….a true worshiper of God.

Does that just not astound you….our God is seeking true worshipers.

And after you eat the bread and drink in the water….. you will want to stop and just breathe…

before heading to the mountain….you will not want to miss the morsels at the mountain….

Blessed Lord and Savior, I remember an old song…..”deep and wide, deep and wide there is a fountain flowing deep and wide”. You are an infinite flow of refreshment for my body….for my soul….Amen :Y
