“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery”. (Galatians 5:1)
This is just one of those morsels that bless us with the deepest of truths and the greatest of promises in our relationship with Christ.
Freedom ~ Christ has paid our ransom and we are free. We are liberated from the chains of restraint
We are no longer tethered to Satan, his lies, and his willful determination for our destruction.
But I wonder how many of us really allow this to soak into our bones?
One of the biggest lies of the dark deceiver is when he brings into our remembrance the bondage of our past sins. He doesn’t want us to believe how worthy we are in Christ, how precious. How could we be with all we have done? Do you hear his lies?
He hangs his yoke of past regrets, fear, shame, condemnation, and unworthiness around our necks and pulls the reigns of deception in the snugness of unbelief. He knows we belong to God but he continues his torture of unbelief, in our thoughts, in our remembrance, and plants his infectious seeds of doubt – it cannot be possible you are really truly free (?) Just think about all you have done.
And he is so crafty and clever with his lies. For even this unbelief is an affront to a sovereign God. If God has forgiven us, if God has accepted us ~ do we then make ourselves mightier by saying it can’t be true?
But Christ says, No ~ “stand firm” and do not submit (again) to Satan’s yoke. You belong to Him ~ you are children of the promise.
“For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness”. (Galatians 5:5)
Oh beloved, be so encouraged by this promise of God. It is yours. Stand firm in this promise. Breathed it in, feel it deep within your spirit, soak it up in your bones. You are free!!!
Breathe it in, soak it up, and saturate your bones in this promise.
You, beloved, are a Child of the Promise!
You are precious, you are free. ~ Amen :Y
