There are so many books in the marketplace that will instruct us on how to get exactly what we may be seeking. And typically there will be a a form of action plan or challenge along with the instructions. We love these plans and ideas that will assist us to set goals and achieve results. Just as long as the plan is short term and results can be achieved within a minimum timeframe. We instinctively know that we can discipline ourselves for the short term, for at least a minimum amount of time. It really just depends on what our heart desires ~ we will typically seek our hearts desires. Would you not agree? Come on now ~ you know you do.
Have you ever taken a challenge to improve on some area of your life? I know I have. I also know that it didn’t take me long to realize the only lasting change is permanent change. But let’s stay positive and let’s just say “anyplace” is usually a good place to start. Right?
So let’s begin and have a little pre-spring fun and take a peek at the latest self-improvement book challenges – If you haven’t already discarded your New Year’s resolutions, you may need a fresh idea before the beginning of Spring. Which ones have you tried so far this year? Be honest.
The 90 day Fitness Challenge – This is a quarter of a year challenge.
The One Year Uncommon Life Daily Challenge – This must be leap year.
The 24 Day Challenge – Burn Fat, Feel Better, Look Great – Guess you get to cheat for 5 days.
The 30 Day Shred Challenge – Sounds painful
The Style Life Challenge – Guess somebody already had The Life Style Challenge but I like the idea of styling a life.
The Whole Enchilada Challenge – I made this one up – What do you think? We could build a diet around Tex-Mex. Love it ~
Now this one is my favorite….drum roll please….
Adulting – How to become grown up in 468 (ish) steps – Really? Only 468, that’s about a year and a half folks.
Don’t misunderstand – I love books – good books. And I love positive change. But the only book I ever found that really made a lasting and eternal difference in my life is God’s Word. It challenged me and continues to challenge me like no other, and just fills me with such a fullness of heart – every day.
You remember that fullness of heart feeling? That bursting heart feeling you had when you fell in love for the very first time? You know ~ you remember ~ the fullness of heart, giddy feeling; the just smiling for no reason kind of feeling. The one of a kind, just hug yourself type of feeling – Remember?
I challenge you to reflect and remember that feeling. I challenge you to write down your words describing that feeling. If you can – it is really quite indescribable. Many Poets, Writers, and gifted Artists have tried for generations to reveal that feeling in pictures and words.
Ahhhh – the enigmatic Mona Lisa – do you think she was pondering that feeling? It is a mystery you know.
But alas, try as we might man cannot fully capture that feeling. Not like God. But man can be wooed and captured by that feeling through God. I know the key to that feeling. You may know it too. If you do, I would love to hear back from you as you share how God wooed you, and instilled in you his fullness of heart; one of a kind; you are so beloved; kind of feeling.
I challenge you to mediate on this verse and BeLoved. Prayerfully soak it in, dwell in it, break it down, KNOW it, live it, and saturate it in your bones until it becomes you.
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all you soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
(Deuteronomy 6:5, Deuteronomy 30:6, Mathew 22:37, Luke 10:27, Mark 12:30)
Begin a love relationship with God. Be wooed by Him. BeLoved.
And be ready to begin a journey, a journey that will challenge you to “BeLoved”
“Ask, and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and the one who knocks it will be opened.
( Mathew 7:7-8, Luke 11:9) ~ Amen :Y
