HeartWorks – The IAM in You; You are not Rejected

Vessels Ministry Rejected

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Remember this one thing. The goal of the devil; our adversary is to get us built up with emotional baggage inside and negative feelings in our hearts against one another, ourselves, and God. He does that with sabotage against our flesh, our minds, and the weakening of our spirit. He does not want God to fully use us. He does not want us to live abundantly. His time is short. He is working very hard.

Lately, God has been revealing my strongholds. He has been active in the process of helping me to fully understand and correct my mistaken identity. Recently His focus has been on the stronghold of rejection and the ways I have allowed myself to be deeply wounded. He has also been in the process of binding up my wounds and healing them.

Did you know that almost everybody is affected by rejection to some degree? Have you ever felt rejection? My guess is that you have and because rejection attacks the very person that we are, the very core of our spirit; it is a common tool the devil uses to destroy a person’s life. Did you know that God never intended for us to feel rejected or abandoned? He desires for us to know who we really are, our identity in Him; and realize just how deeply He loves us, accepts us, and will use us to live out of His fullness and purpose for our lives.

You know what – I knew all that. I am daily in God’s Word and I have all the scripture knowledge but the Holy Spirit knew I needed more depth. I had an identity crisis. Somehow this “head knowledge” had to become “heart knowledge”. Do you know what that means? Does this resonate at all with you? Have you ever experienced the healing power of God’s love in His transformational process? It begins in His Word and slowly takes root in the heart and in the spirit.

The truth is we were created in the very image of God to be loved, accepted, and appreciated. Rejection is an anti-Christ spirit because it opposes the very nature that God created in us. Rejection starves us from the love and acceptance that we are designed to receive and give. The problem is we usually turn to others, ourselves, or other sources for that love and acceptance. And when we do , reach out – not up, we are setting ourselves up for failure and the damage of rejection. Only God can be sought and depended on as the trusted source of our identity. Beloved know this – the rejection issues will not get settled until we get it deeply rooted into our spirit that we are accepted, loved, and appreciated by God. It is God who defines our identity. Tearing down the strongholds of rejection is as simple as merely receiving, with childlike faith, what God’s Word has to say about our identity, who we are as a new creature in Christ, and that we are called to an abundant life, purpose, and meaning in Christ. Soak it in and saturate yourself in God’s truth.

Over time the Holy Spirit has shown me that whenever there is that feeling of hurt and pain from rejection, it is because I have allowed my identity to become dependent upon what another person thinks about me – about us. If our identity didn’t depend on what others think of us, we would be virtually immune from the damage of rejection. That is why our identity must be based and deeply rooted in the Word of God, and what God has to say about us. That – my beloved – is the unshakable rock in which we all need to build our identity upon.

An Unshakable Identity In Christ                                Allow the “I AM” to become you.

You are created in the very image of God.  I am created in the very image of God.

So God created man in his own image,

In the image of God he created him;

Male and female he created them.

You are one spirit in Christ and the very temple of the Holy Spirit.

But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.

You are no longer enslaved to sin.                               I am no longer enslaved to sin.

We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

You are a member of the body of Christ.                     I am a member of the body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:27

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

You are a child of God.                                                I am a child of God.

1 John 3:1

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

You are an heir of God                                                I am an heir of God.

Galatians 3:29

And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.

You are alive in Christ and glorified through him.      I am alive in Christ and glorified through Him

Colossians 3:4

When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Christ lives in you.                                                       Christ lives in me.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who love me and gave himself for me.
