This past Sunday I woke up with a song in my heart and a tune on my mind. I couldn’t remember the words to the tune that I was beginning to hum as I stumbled downstairs for my morning coffee. I knew when David, my husband, woke up he would be able to identify the tune. He has an amazing ear for music. And I say that because I do not have an amazing voice for singing, but I love to sing.
As the coffee brewed I clicked on my phone and there was a picture text message from my youngest daughter.
Now my daughter lives many miles away and as she explained the picture; she was out on her patio in the early morning hours before the “littles” woke up, spending time with God. She had photographed a beautiful sunrise and had inscribed the verse of this morning’s bible study focus.
“From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised”.
At this point, I just soaked in the beautiful sunrise and breathed in the scripture, and gratefully acknowledge what a peaceful and precious time she was having in her own quiet time with God.
Shortly thereafter, David wakes up and I share with him about the song in my heart and tune in my thoughts as I hum a few notes. He sleepily soaks it all in and goes up for his morning shower. With confidence, I knew he would come back with the song title at some point during the day. In the meantime, I continue humming the tune in an effort to remember the words. I now remember that I had heard this tune on two separate occasions. Once at my church during praise and worship; and once at the church my oldest daughter’s attends, also during praise and worship.
Then sure enough after his shower David comes in with his phone and plays the song ~ Every Praise ~ Hezekiah Walker. I am suddenly amazed as I connect the song to the text picture from my daughter. I quickly message her about the song in my heart, the tune in my thoughts, and the connection with her own praise time. She was delighted.
Now stay with me, because this story gets even more connected as I mention to David on our way to Church service, “if we get to service and the sermon is on this Psalm or we sing “Every Praise” , I will stand even more amazed.” Are you ready for this…..well stand up and stand amazed because that is exactly what happened.
Isn’t God just astoundingly amazing !
Come on now, be amazed and let your ears hear what your heart is saying ~
Praise Him with Every Praise.
“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together”.
“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
Christ is the center by which all things are connected. Praise Him – Amen: Y
