Beloved, it is God who anchors our soul with the Good News of the fulfilled promise of Jesus – our forerunner on our behalf. Give Him thanks and give Him Praise. ~ Amen
“For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had not one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain. Where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6:13 – 20)
There are times when we allow ourselves to be discouraged by the winds of change that blow in and out leaving some anchorless and without steadfast and eternal hope. We can take refuge and heart as we are encouraged in the promises of God. Beloved, God tells us in His Word there is no one greater than Himself. Did you hear that Good News? No one greater than God. We have the promise of the unchangeable character of His Purpose. Our God is unchangeable. He does not change His mind or His promise in the blowing of the wind. Our God does not lie. It is impossible for Him to do so since His character is unchangeable.
Beloved, be comforted, be encouraged, hold fast to the hope that is set before us. In that hope we have a sure and steadfast anchor for our soul. Beloved, we are not alone in our race. We have the blessed hope in Jesus as our forerunner. Did you hear that? He is running the race with us as our forerunner. All we do is keep our eyes on Him ~ keep our eyes on the fulfilled promise in front of us. ~ We are already victorious. ~ Amen: Y
Heavenly Father, thank you for your unchangeable character that anchors our soul in the Good News.
